    I traded a 2017 Ram 2500 in on my Pathfinder. Got tired of taking to Ram in for it's 4th recall in 3200 miles. I must say, the Pathfinder is 5 times the vehicle the Ram was. Gas mileage to start with is averaging 21.3 right now. I found the V6 just right as far as power. I am no longer a hot rodder so 600 horse under the hood is unnecessary. I put the Nissan into cruise at the bottom of the 30% grade, it holds the 62 mph up the hill. The CVT controls the rpm of the engine so no need to down shift. The Pathfinder has a lot of toys on the dash, more than enough for this old man. What I will agree to with the salesman...The Pathfinder is designed for us older generation. The 4 corner cameras, back up sensors, forward sensor, curb camera, and the passive cruise that slows you down with out worrying about slamming into the vehicle ahead of you are great. To pass, just move left and press the gas. once you're past, then it returns to the set speed. To increase or decrease your speed in cruise, just tap the speed button up or down. No need to reset the cruise every time you require more speed. The CVT transmission has a tow button that I use as a compression brake while going down hills, it holds the Pathfinder at or about 63 mph. No need to burn brakes up. I was not a fan of CVT transmissions, but the Nissan has begun to turn my thinking around. I have not used the Nissan for towing yet so I can't tell you how that will play out. The Hot/Cold seats are my wife's favorite option. Specially at -45 below Wisconsin winter mornings. The cool seat feature is great in our 82 degree summers. I have not found anything that I don't like about my Pathfinder. I am looking forward to a across country trip this coming fall. The only issue so far was the sensor for the passive cruise control failure (under front bumper cover). A trip to the dealership had it replaced within an hour, all better now. It concerned me that it costs $700.00 for the part and total cost of replacement is $1600.00. This one was under warranty, I am hoping it is not an issue after my warranty is up. As far as owners complaining about the "lack" of off road ability. I didn't buy a Jeep, I bought a SUV with winter driving ability with select 4 WD, and 2 WD when you don't need 4 wd for those sloppy winter roads. The sound system is great, We have SXM on most of the time. The BOSE system is cool. Just keep your grand kids out of the Pathfinder, they like to see if they can lunch a speaker or two. So, my final suggestion, try the Pathfinder and the Toyota version of it. Toyota is another $10 to15,000.00 over the cost of my Pathfinder. Value has a lot to do with my purchases, we wanted the reliability of the Toyota that Nissan has pretty much matched at a price 10-15 grand less.

    Traveling from Oklahoma to each coast since ownership of Pathfinder. Do not care for the way calculating avg gas mileage works. Only hit 27 mpg once or twice, the rest of time lower 20's. Not the most desirable look overall, but it is comfortable and smooth ride. My 7th Nissan since 1991. Reliability @95%. Fuel injector failure lead to towing and Nissan Corp. Engineers to resolve...after two weeks. Will still buy another Nissan, not same year or style on because of looks. Want Nissan to make lighter interiors again. Dark are too hot and closed in.
